More and more, today’s construction projects must comply with local and national codes above and beyond the National Electric Code. The U.S. Department of Energy has adopted energy codes written by the International Energy Code Council (IECC) and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) which dictate energy usage and lighting control requirements for commercial spaces.
Furthermore, some cities have adopted a “Dark Skies” ordinance, which limits the usage and direction of outdoor lighting in an effort to combat light pollution.
United Lighting Design is up to date on all of the codes in your area and has the resources to comply and report as necessary for your project
